Do you sell used equipment?
No we only sell new equipment and products


Will all of my order arrive at the same time?
As we order direct from the manufacturer or supplier you may receive more than one delivery


Why do I have to pay for delivery?
All products are shipped direct from the manufacturer or supplier using either their own transport or a carrier, to make things easier, we have a standard charge for deliveries.


Why do you only deliver to mainland UK?
We are limiting our online delivery service to mainland UK due to excessive carriage charges. If you would like to arrange delivery to Ireland, IOW or ther IOM then please call our Sales Team on 08456 04 63 32 or email: sales@hss.com


Is the information I give you on this site secure?
Yes, we collect and store your data securely. You should see a small padlock or key along the bottom of your screen on the 'Checkout & Application' page which shows that the page is secure.
All personal information is stored using 128 bit encryption. We utilise the industry-standard Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all the personal information including credit or debit card numbers, names and addresses.


Do I need any special software to use the site?
No, you should be able to view everything on our site without any problems

What does it mean to sign in / save my details?
Sign In is a feature offered to make your checkout process quicker and easier.

I've forgotten my password, what do I do?
Simply click on the 'forgotten my password' button, within the 'Registered Customers Log In' page and your password will be emailed to your email address.


I have a HSS Trade Card, can I still order online?
No. Trade Card customers can place orders by calling our Sales Team on 08456 04 63 32


Am I able to amend my order once it's submitted?
Once 'submit order' is clicked, your order is sent immediately to our supplier to process your delivery. You cannot amend the order.

How do I cancel/return an item?
You may cancel your order by giving us notice of cancellation prior to delivery of the goods to you or to your local HSS branch. Such notice may be given by phone, fax or email. A unique order cancellation number will be issued and should be quoted in any correspondence.
Once we have received your order and an order has been placed with our supplier any cancelled orders may be subject to a cancellation / re-stocking charg. Additional carriage charges may also apply for the return of the goods.

On cancellation of your order, for whatever reason, you must return any goods you have received to us at your cost unless we agree that you may dispose of them - in which case please comply with the manufacturer’s instructions before disposing of electrical or hazardous goods.


How do I return faulty items?
If goods are being returned because they are faulty, firstly check if the manufacturer offers a helpline, repair or warranty service. Using this service may be the fastest way to get the problem fixed. We reserve the right to have the faulty goods repaired or replaced under the terms and conditions of the manufacturer’s warranty, details of which are supplied with the goods, alternatively please contact our Sales Team on 08456 04 63 32

How do I know my promotion code has been accepted?
The promotional discount will be applied when you reach the basket stage

Can I see Inc Vat or Exc VAT prices?
You can see Inc VAT and Exc VAT prices on the product pages, but at checkout you will be able to see the total VAT amount.

Can I have my order delivered to a different address?
Yes. There is an opportunity for you to enter the delivery address details or select delivery to your local HSS Branch on the address page of the Checkout.


Why is my order sometimes delayed?
All of our orders are sent directly to the supplier or manufacturer for them to dispatch to you ASAP. Most orders will be delivered within five working days. In some instances a small number of orders may be delayed due to peak demand or manufacturing issues, in these cases we will advise you of any delays that we are made aware of.


Will I get notifications about my order status?
You will receive an automated email response confirming that we have received your order and it is being processed. In the case of HSS Account customers, our Sales Team will contact you to confirm and validate the details prior to processing the order.


What payment methods can I use on the website?
